Welcome to my blog! I’m honored that you’re here.
I’d say it’s safe to assume if reading this, you probably know me, and you may be wondering what compelled me to even start this. Well, good question!
A bit of background, if you don’t know: I love to write. Up until last summer, I worked at The Dallas Morning News, where I was a writer and editor covering community news. Now, I work as a content editor for a digital publishing company – which I love – but with it comes fewer writing opportunities.
Recently, I realized I miss writing and want to get back into it again, so I started praying God would about bring some more chances to write. Somehow or another, I got the idea to start a blog and felt the Lord pressing into my heart that THAT’s where He wants me to write!
Through this blog, I hope to share personal stories, scriptures and ways God has spoken to me in the hope of encouraging others. I may share opinions, but I don’t claim to be an expert on the Bible. Just a follower of Christ who is seeking Him and living in His grace daily. And right now, that’s enough. God has brought me through so many tough situations in life, even in just the last year, and I hope that by sharing a bit of what God is doing in my life and how he’s teaching me to trust him through even the hardest of times, you might be inspired in your walk with Him!
I certainly feel like some days I come up completely dry and don’t really have anything to give to others that would BEGIN to help them (I’m thinking, look at me, I’m a mess! How can I encourage others?), but God has shown me this is the wrong way to think. We all have scars from the hard things we’ve been dealt in life, but I think each and every one of us has something we can offer to others, even if it’s just a few words of encouragement.
“Therefore encourage one another and build each other up, just as in fact you are doing.” -1 Thessalonians 5:11
I love that verse. Anyway, I would appreciate any feedback, as well as any topics you’d be interested in hearing about.

Caitlin, you are such a good role model for young women, and you are always an encouragement to others. Your reference reminds me of another example of encouragement in the Word. Paul, who suffered alone in prison, said that at those times he encouraged himself in The Lord. It is good to remember that we can be encouraged by each other as well as by reading scripture and praying.
You really are a great role model and wonderful encourager. Thank you for encouraging me! I know the Lord is working through you to help those who feel alone and need to know the encouragement God provides through his Word.
